PROVIDA® DIGESTIVE HEALTH?
Why choose
PROVIDA
Digestive Health?
All Provida® Digestive Health supplements contain enzymes obtained by fermentation of maltodextrins through fungal spores, the only type of digestive enzymes active along the entire digestive tract.
They also contain higher amounts of active units than most products on the market, thus ensuring the efficacy of the formulation.
PROVIDA® DIGESTIVE HEALTH?
Fungal
enzymes
Provida® Digestive Health uses Fungal Enzymes, also known as microbial enzymes, which work along the entire digestive tract.
In contrast to enzymes of plant and animal origin, which are effective at either only acidic or only basic pH conditions, fungal enzymes are active both at acidic pH, which is more prevalent in the stomach, and at alkaline pH, which is more prevalent in the small intestine.
Furthermore, fungal enzymes, compared to plant or animal enzymes, are most active at a temperature similar to body temperature, making them more effective at digesting food.

Measuring
Enzymes
To evaluate the efficacy of an enzyme supplement, and therefore to measure the amount of enzymes present, we need to consider the 'international units of enzyme activity'.
The enzymes used in Provída® Digestive Health formulas are evaluated according to FCC (FoodChemicalCodex) standards, and the acronyms accompanying each enzyme describe its international unit of measurement. For example: Protease is measured in terms of efficacy in HUT, or 'Tyrosine-based Haemoglobin Units'; Amylase in DU, or 'Dextrinising Units'.
